New HTP app now available for Android, IPad

We IPhone users have had access to the new HTP app for a couple months already. In the last few days, it’s become available for the Android market, as well as the IPad and Blackberry. Yah!

Here are the links to download this free and useful app.

Android: Visit

to download

IPad: Visit the iTunes store or

The following is what I wrote last November when the new HTP app for IPhone was announced. I still feel the same way — that it’s a great benefit to those who install, maintain and sell HTP products.

New HTP app saved me a climb down the ladder

The first time I used the new HTP app, I was standing on my roof with a tape measure.  I had been preparing to install a new flat-plate solar hot water collector next to my existing vacuum tube collectors, and I’d measured the distance between the existing collectors and a roof dormer. But I couldn’t recall the actual dimensions of the HTP flat-plate collector, and I wasn’t sure I had enough room.

After three clicks I had the information. The answer was instant and, best of all, in my pocket. Turns out I get pretty good phone reception on my roof.

HTP's new app for IPhones is now available. It includes all product manuals and other specs.

This kind of situation was exactly what HTP was thinking of when we created the new HTP app that puts all HTP installation manuals, specifications and even videos on your phone. The app, released Nov. 10, is available for the IPhone and IPad, and will soon be released for the Android and Blackberry. I’ll let you know when that happens.

I think in many situations, the app is even easier than going to the HTP web site. Especially at the point it’s needed most — on the roof or in the client’s basement. Most of the manuals for boilers and other products have tabs so in the case of the Elite boiler, for instance, you can go straight to venting issues.

For dealers, it can optimize your ability to engage with your customers and provide better service. Say you’re at a job site and determine the Phoenix is the best fit, but you can’t recall one important detail: A couple taps later, and you can explain that the larger 119-gallon Phoenix (PH199-119) produces 335  gallons per hour. Next step: Skip to the images.

Find the app by going to the App Store on your IPhone, and typing HTP in the search field. You’ll recognize the app by our logo. So far, the approval rating is at 100%. Here’s an example of the comments: “It’s like having the engineering binder on my phone. All the specifications, installation manuals and parts list are there, plus it even has the videos. Two thumbs up.” Thanks, F105kid.

Best of all, it’s free.

After you download it and review how helpful it is, it’d help if you could return to the App Store and add your comment.

  1. Thanks for the info, Rod. I passed it on to our sales team and managers at APR Supply.
